Many people want to express their Christian faith by helping others but are not sure where to begin. If this is you then continue reading.
Under the leadership of WPC’s Hunger and Homeless Team there are many activities where volunteers can help. Check out this list:
- Approximately 130 meals/month are served in a couple motels and at Grove Christian Outreach;
- Preparing Crock Pot meals for neighbors living in motels;
- Making monthly food donations to FISH;
- Preparing meals weekly for the Summer Meals for Kids Program (300 children once a week);
- Donating and/or collecting food during the Summer Meals Food Drive on May 18;
- Repairing a house and doing yard work with Housing Partnership on June 8;
- Yard work, sorting cloths, repair work at Grove Christian Outreach during the Day of Caring on September 13;
- Attending the annual Habitat event on the Eastern Shore on October 17-19;
- Packaging meals for Rise Against Hunger on November 2;
- And, hosting the homeless at WPC with the Winter Shelter (dates to be announced).
And there is more! Volunteers are needed at these agencies supported with funding by WPC:
- Avalon Center
- Salvation Army
- FISH
- Faith In Action
- Grove Christian Outreach Center
- House of Mercy
- Meals on Wheels
