MACARONI AND CHEESE COOKOFF: NOVEMBER 15

You are invited to join us for our annual Mac & Cheese cook-off on November 15 from 5:00-6:30 pm! Whether you make a classic family recipe or like something a little more experimental, we want to try your favorite macaroni and cheese! Contestants will be judged by an esteemed panel of judges and should register in advance. Non-contestants do not need to register and are welcome to come, eat, and judge for themselves which mac will take the crown! There will also be macaroni-themed crafts for children!

There is a suggested $5 donation at the door to support WPC Family events.

I want to enter the cookoff!

New Preschool Dance and Play Session Begins JANUARY 15

We are having so much fun with our preschoolers during these Wednesday afternoon sessions that it's time to do it again! This class is an excellent way to invite new families into the building and cultivate community between parents of young children. The next session will run from January 15 - March 19, on Wednesdays at 1:30 pm in Room 130. Children can be registered online. Registration deadline is September 11. Space is limited to 10 participants.

Third Sundays are WPC Family Sundays

Another exciting opportunity is our new monthly WPC Family Sundays. Every third Sunday of the month parents can gather during the Sunday School hour upstairs in Room 227 to enjoy coffee, treats, and community while their children enjoy special art and movement projects that help them experience faith with their whole selves. Then, the 11:00am service will be designed to welcome and include children as ushers and readers, and to help the whole congregation engage in embodying the scripture. After the service, there will be a lunch and activity for the whole congregation, specifically geared towards families. Registration each month is encouraged but not required.

November 17 - Faith at Home
As we navigate through the everyday tasks of grocery pickups, carpools, never ending emails, and finding the bin that holds the next size of clothes for the kid that grew 3 inches overnight, it can be challenging to remain grounded in the tenets of our faith. Let's come together to explore ways that this parent of seven kids and children's minister finds ways to mix the sacred and the ordinary throughout the year. Bring your questions!

Please join us at 12:15; right after service. Lunch (provided by WPC) will be followed by a session with guest speaker Elizabeth Christie. The workshop will also be available via Zoom. This event is open to all! Sign-ups are encouraged, in order to get a head count for food purposes, but not required. Child care with games and free play will be available.

Elizabeth Christie has been working in the field of children’s and family ministries for over two decades. She has served in a variety of ministry settings as both staff and consultant, finding great joy in helping make lifelong faith formation transformational for all. She is currently a consultant in children's and family ministries with Practical Resources for Churches in addition to serving as the director of children and family ministries at Cathedral Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth has been married to Tom, a college librarian, for 24 years, sharing their lives with their seven amazing children.
