As many of you are aware, the storms that hit North Carolina yesterday did immense damage to the Asheville area. One place that has been hard hit is Montreat/Black Mountain where flooding and falling trees have left many without shelter or supplies. One of the families whose home was damaged are our own Summer & Reid Kirkpatrick. As they wait for roads to reopen to traffic (hopefully tomorrow) they are preparing to take all they can to help their friends, neighbors, and beloved community.
As our youth, college students, thriving congregation team, and many others will tell you, Montreat has given much to us in the way of growing our faith. We now have a chance to help those who live and work there in their greatest need.
Below is a list of things that are being requested as urgent needs:
- Bottled Water, be it individual bottles or gallons
- Vinyl Tarps
- Chain Saw (Bar/Chain) oil
If you have any of this or have a chance to pick some up, please bring it to the church on Sunday (morning or during the ice cream social), we will have a location in the back parking lot to drop things off.
Thank You!
